Brian H. Hurd

Brian H. Hurd is an experienced educator and community development professional currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Washington University in St. Louis, where Brian teaches "Planning Sustainable and Racially Equitable Urban Communities." As the Technical Assistance Program Manager at Rise Community Development, Brian focuses on community planning through a racial equity lens and conducts assessments for organizations. With a background as a Field Instructor at the Brown School, Brian trains graduate students in social work and public health. Previous roles include Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the City of Maryland Heights, Senior City Planner for the City of Norfolk, and Management Consultant for Community Development Professional Management Services.
