Lydia Ding

Lydia "Da" Ding is an experienced outreach director currently serving at Rising Voices, a project of Center for Empowered Politics, where previous roles included field manager and electoral organizing fellow. Prior experience includes teaching youth coding programs at the Free Library of Philadelphia and working as a software engineer at Oscar Health. Lydia participated in a self-directed learning retreat at Recurse Center, where a Python to WebAssembly compiler was developed. Academic contributions encompass a research assistant position at Yale University focused on endangered languages and various roles at Carleton College, including work as a digital humanities associate and linguistics teaching assistant. Lydia also serves as a Chinese language tutor and has contributed to projects aimed at preserving endangered languages through research fellowships. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Carleton College and participation in the Associated Kyoto Program in Japanese Language and Literature at Doshisha University.
