Robert Sowers (RAS)

Robert (RAS) Sowers has over 22 years of work experience in the information technology and audit field. Robert (RAS) is currently employed as the Director of Information Technology Audit at Risk & Regulatory Consulting LLC since September 2022. Prior to that, Robert held various roles at Capital BlueCross from 2008 to 2022, including Senior Director of IT Audit and ERM, Director of IT Audit and ERM, Manager of IT Compliance and Corporate Policy, and Technology Specialist. Robert (RAS) also worked as a Manager at Ernst & Young from 2000 to 2008.

Robert (RAS) Sowers completed their education from Elizabethtown College between 1996 and 2000, majoring in Accounting with a focus on Accounting and IT. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include the CRMA - Certified in Risk Management Assurance from the IIA in January 2019, the CIA - Certified Internal Auditor from The Institute of Internal Auditors in December 2017, the HCISPP™ - HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner from (ISC)² in March 2015, the CHC - Certified in Healthcare Compliance from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) in September 2014, the CISSP® - Certified Information Systems Security Professional from (ISC)² in November 2012, the CRISC - Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control from ISACA in August 2011, and the CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor from ISACA in June 2004.
