Vered Shapovalov

Vered Shapovalov, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and research. Vered is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at Riskified, where they are leading the development of AB test methodology and validating models for Chargeback-Guarantee, the company's main product. Prior to this, they also worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Maytronics, where they used machine learning and data analysis techniques to evaluate the chemistry of pool water. Vered has a strong academic background and teaching experience, having served as an Adjunct Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at the University of Haifa. Vered taught various topics in statistics, machine learning, and actuary to undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, Vered worked as a Research Assistant at the Actuarial Research Center, where they focused on predicting claims frequency from driving data using variable selection methods and predictive models. Vered also gained research experience as a Postdoctoral Student at the Faculty of Chemistry, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where their research involved applying tools and algorithms from chemometrics, machine learning, and big data analysis to extract information from complex chemical systems.

Vered Shapovalov, PhD received their education from the University of Haifa in Israel. Vered earned their Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) degree in Statistics from 2007 to 2010. Vered went on to complete their Master of Arts (Cum Laude) degree in Actuarial Science from 2011 to 2012. Vered then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Statistics from 2013 to 2018.
