Rui Guan is a Principal Engineer at Rivian since August 2022, leading the development of a scalable generative AI design platform for exploring evolutionary opportunities. Previously, Rui served as a Hardware Engineer at Apple from October 2014 to August 2022, contributing to special projects aimed at expanding vision and reshaping future technologies. Prior experience includes roles as a Drivetrain Engineer at Ogin, Inc., and as an Electromagnetic Design Engineer at Vestas, focusing on advanced generator and motor designs. Earlier, Rui worked as an Electric Machine Designer at Remy International, developing efficient traction motors. Rui holds a Doctor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Master’s degree from Clarkson University, along with a Bachelor's degree from Chongqing University.
