Jennifer Seiler

Jennifer Seiler has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering, astrophysics, and game development. Jennifer is currently working as a Senior Engineer at RKF Engineering Solutions, LLC, where they focus on simulation and modeling for wireless communications systems. In this role, they develop software solutions and simulations for regulatory and advocacy work related to new communication technologies.

Prior to their current position, Jennifer worked as a Game Developer, where they contributed to the development of Universe Sandbox, a physics-based space simulator. Their role involved creating realistic simulations of astronomical phenomena and improving the physics and planetary science aspects of the game.

Jennifer also has experience in academia, having worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University. Here, they focused on issues of reproducibility in scientific research and developed computational tools to promote open code and data in the research sciences.

Before their time at Columbia University, Jennifer worked as an Astrophysicist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where they conducted numerical simulations of relativistic spacetimes for the LISA project. Their work involved analyzing gravitational waves and their spherical harmonic modes.

Jennifer's educational background includes a PhD in Astrophysics from Max-Planck-Institut fuer Gravitationsphysik. During their time as a PhD student, they focused on numerical simulations of binary black hole spacetimes and developed numerical templates for detecting gravitational waves.

Jennifer's early career included an undergraduate research position at Cornell University, where they worked on numerical relativity and data visualization. Jennifer contributed to the development of software for analyzing numerical simulations of solutions to the Einstein equations, including inspiraling neutron star and black hole systems.

Overall, Jennifer Seiler's work experience demonstrates their expertise in simulation and modeling, game development, astrophysics, and research in the field of reproducibility in science.

Jennifer Seiler completed their high school education at Hayfield Secondary School H.S from 1997 to 2001, with a focus on physics, architecture, and computer science. Jennifer then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Cornell University, graduating in 2005. During this time, they also pursued their interest in theoretical astrophysics and completed their Ph.D. in the field at Leibniz Universität Hannover and the Albert Einstein Institute between 2005 and 2010. Furthermore, in December 2018, Jennifer obtained a Fire Safety Inspector certification from the Flow Arts Institute, and in March 2015, they received their Open Water certification for scuba diving from PADI.
