Clara Yan

Clara Yan has extensive experience in the finance and insurance industries. Clara is currently the Head of Insurance Analytics at Robeco, a position they have held since October 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Schroders as an Insurance ALM Director from July 2015 to October 2020. Before joining Schroders, Clara was a Director at UBS from November 2009 to July 2015.

Clara has also held senior roles at Legal & General Investment Management, where they served as a Senior ALM Strategist from April 2007 to July 2008, providing strategic investment advice and advising on the implementation of derivatives for financial reporting exercises. Clara was also an Asset Modelling Actuary at Legal & General from August 2002 to April 2007, managing the stochastic annuity modelling team and leading the economic scenario generation team. Prior to that, they were an Investment Research Actuary at Allenbridge from July 2000 to April 2002.

Earlier in their career, Clara worked as an Actuarial Analyst at ANZ from March 1997 to March 2000, and as a Superannuation Specialist at AMP from January 1996 to March 1997, where they served as a client liaison and performed actuarial investigations on defined benefit funds. Overall, Clara has a strong background in insurance and investment management, with significant experience in actuarial analysis, asset management, and strategic decision-making.

Clara Yan has a strong educational background in the field of finance and mathematics. In 1992, they attended Macquarie University and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Actuarial Studies in 1996. Following this, they pursued further studies at Cass Business School, where they earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Financial Mathematics with Distinction in 2009.
