Robbert Vonk has extensive work experience in various roles within the finance and asset management industry. Robbert currently serves as the Managing Director and Head of Strategic Business Development at Robeco, where they lead a team responsible for non-organic activities such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestments.
Before joining Robeco, Robbert worked as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer (CFO & COO) at CANARA ROBECO ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPANY LIMITED, a joint venture between Canara bank and Robeco. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing a team of 250+ employees and ensuring the joint venture operated within policies and regulations.
Additionally, Robbert served as the Chairman of the Board at India Netherlands Business Association-Mumbai (INBA), where they supported and facilitated business between the Dutch-Indian community in Mumbai. Prior to their role at INBA, they held various positions at Robeco, including Head of Risk Analysis, Team Lead Client Portfolio Risk, and Senior Market Risk Manager.
Before their time at Robeco, Robbert gained financial experience working at Tamoil Nederland in a financial role. Overall, their work experience demonstrates expertise in strategic business development, financial risk management, and operational leadership.
Robbert Vonk has a diverse educational background. Robbert earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, which they attended from 2000 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Financial Economics at the same university, completing it in 2007. In 2009, Robbert obtained the PRM (Professional Risk Manager) designation from PRMIA. During the same year, they attended a Derivatives Bootcamp at Euromoney Training. Robbert's education journey began at Libanon Lyceum, where they completed their Gymnasium education from 1994 to 2000.
