Kristin Hathaway Hansen is Vice President of Advancement at the Woodruff Arts Center, where she leads fundraising efforts for operational and capital support from foundations and individual philanthropists. Hathaway Hansen also oversees internal and external communications on behalf of the Arts Center. She has more than two decades of experience in fundraising for the arts, including 15 years at the Woodruff Arts Center.
Prior to her current role, Hathaway Hansen led the Woodruff Arts Center’s Transformation Campaign, a campus-wide, $112 million effort that provided capital, endowment, and programmatic support to the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, High Museum of Art, and Woodruff Arts Center. As Vice President of Development, Hathaway Hansen oversaw all fundraising efforts for the Woodruff Arts Center, including contributed revenue from corporations, individuals, foundations, and public funding.
Previously, Hathaway Hansen served as Director of Development for the Alliance Theatre for eight years, leading the strategic planning process and, ultimately, the fundraising effort for a complete renovation of the theater. Prior to that role, Hathaway Hansen held positions as Managing Director at Actor’s Express Theatre and Education Director at Horizon Theatre, both in Atlanta.
As an intern for the President’s Committee on the Arts & Humanities, Hathaway Hansen coordinated the “Coming Up Taller” Awards, chaired by First Lady Hillary Clinton, to honor exceptional arts education programs throughout the country. Hathaway Hansen holds a Bachelor of Arts from James Madison University and has completed Stanford University’s Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders.
