Alex Liu

Alex Liu is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in technology and product development. Currently serving as the Head of Engineering for Crypto at Robinhood since 2021, Alex oversees a team of over 50 engineers and has previously held the position of Senior Staff Engineer, leading 125+ engineers across multiple teams in payments and crypto initiatives. Prior to Robinhood, Alex worked at Airbnb for five years as a Staff Software Engineer, focusing on enhancing payment experiences and generating substantial revenue through various product initiatives. Alex's earlier experience includes a role as a Database Researcher at Harvard University, where research emphasized optimizing data systems, as well as positions at Microsoft and Redbeacon. Alex holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Harvard University.
