Bart Baekelandt

Head of Product Management at Robovision

Bart Baekelandt has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Bart is currently serving as the Head of Product Management at Robovision since July 2021. In this role, they lead the Product Management activities and is a member of the Management Board.

Before joining Robovision, Bart worked at ST Engineering iDirect as a Product Manager for Newtec Dialog from October 2019 to July 2021.

Prior to that, they were associated with Newtec from 2011 to 2021, where they held various roles. As a Product Manager for VSAT Terminals from May 2016 to July 2021, Bart focused on enhancing satellite networks with a tailored terminal portfolio. Bart was responsible for product definition, launch, lifecycle management, and portfolio management of digital satellite modems, outdoor units, and installation tooling.

Additionally, at Newtec, Bart served as a Product Manager for RF Products from January 2016 to May 2016. Bart also worked as a Technical Product Architect from February 2013 to January 2016, where they led the design of 2W Ku-band low-cost transceiver, provided technical follow-up for third-party development of a Quad LNB with integrated TX/RX diplexer, and defined technical requirements for various satellite communications products. Before that, Bart worked as an RF/Microwave Design Engineer from January 2011 to February 2013, focusing on the design, development, and validation of low-cost high-volume Ka-band transceivers and antenna subsystems.

Prior to their tenure at Newtec, Bart was a Post-doc research engineer at IMEC from July 2010 to December 2010. Bart also worked as a Doctoral Research Engineer at Ghent University - INTEC Design from September 2005 to December 2010. During their doctoral research, Bart designed 10Gbit/s board/subassembly prototypes for fiber to the home transceivers, supported by an IWT scholarship grant.

Bart Baekelandt pursued their education in a chronological order, beginning in the year 2000. From 2000 to 2005, they attended Ghent University, where they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering. Following this, in 2014, Bart enrolled in the Accelerated Management Programme at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, focusing on Business Administration and Management in general. In 2016, they continued their studies at Vlerick Business School, undertaking the Product Management Programme, which also centered around Business Administration and Management.
