Stefan Brieschenk

Dr. Stefan Brieschenk has a diverse background in aerospace engineering and research. Dr. Stefan began their career as an Engineering Intern at SGL Group - The Carbon Company, where they designed and manufactured a moulding apparatus for the production of composite profiles. Dr. Stefan then worked as an Aerospace Engineering Intern at LMI Aerospace, Inc., where they gained further experience in the field.

Dr. Brieschenk continued their professional development with an internship at Premium AEROTEC GmbH, focusing on composite design and repair considerations. Dr. Stefan later joined ISL (French-German Research Institute of Saint-Louis) as a Research Scientist.

In 2015, Dr. Brieschenk joined Rocket Lab USA as a Vehicle Testing Manager, leading a team of engineers and technicians in the development and testing of launch vehicle systems. During their time there, they brought systems to flight readiness and played a pivotal role in assembling a highly skilled engineering team.

Following their position at Rocket Lab USA, Dr. Brieschenk joined the University of Queensland as an Adjunct Fellow, where they conducted research on ignition and combustion physics in supersonic, air-breathing engines called scramjets. Dr. Stefan built advanced diagnostic capabilities and supported international hypersonic flight experiments.

Most recently, Dr. Brieschenk was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer and a Member of the Executive Board at RFA - Rocket Factory Augsburg. In this role, they oversee the company's operations and strategic direction.

Dr. Stefan Brieschenk earned their PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) between 2007 and 2011. Prior to that, they attended Augsburg University of Applied Sciences from 2003 to 2007, specializing in Aerospace Engineering.
