Phil Boothe

Phil Boothe has had a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Phil currently holds the role of Director of Engineering, Platform at Rocket Money, where they have been working since July 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as an Engineering Manager at the same company from October 2021 to July 2022.

Before joining Rocket Money, Phil was a Lead Software Engineer at Upside Business Travel from October 2020 to August 2021. Phil also worked as a Software Engineer II at Rally Health from June 2020 to October 2020. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Full Stack Engineer at Upside Business Travel from July 2019 to May 2020.

Phil's work experience also includes their time at Excella, where they served as a Senior Consultant. During their time there, they worked on the development of myUSCIS, an online service for immigration applicants, and implemented practices to improve production monitoring and increase stability for users. Phil held this role from January 2019 to July 2019. Before that, they worked as a Consultant at Excella from January 2017 to January 2019.

In 2016, Phil participated in a 14-week coding bootcamp at Coding Dojo, focusing on Python, Ruby, and MEAN stacks, and gaining skills necessary to become a self-sufficient programmer.

Prior to transitioning into the tech industry, Phil held positions at American University and Strayer University. At American University, they served as a Financial Aid Counselor, providing counseling on tax verification and hardship appeals to students and families. Phil also conducted statistical analysis for admissions reports. Phil worked at American University from March 2015 to June 2016. At Strayer University, they held the roles of Senior Specialist, Business Office Operations and Student Financial Services Specialist. In these roles, they managed day-to-day operations, improved collections rates, and became the primary point of contact for software errors based on their system expertise. Phil worked at Strayer University from September 2012 to March 2015.

Phil's early work experience includes their time as a Customer Service Associate at Wegmans Food Markets from August 2005 to September 2012.

Phil Boothe completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Virginia, from the years 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they received an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Northern Virginia Community College, from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, in March 2017, Phil obtained a certification for Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance.
