Adam Moylan

Research Principal at Rockman Et Al

Adam Moylan is an educational psychologist with over 20 years of experience in education research and evaluation. At Rockman et al, Adam is a Senior Principal Researcher who designs and conducts mixed methods evaluations of multisite interventions and initiatives in K-12 and in out-of-school settings, which usually focus on improving learning opportunities for traditionally marginalized and underserved student populations, including English learners, students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and first-generation college students. Most often, Adam leads experimental and quasi-experimental studies on the effectiveness of instructional and assessment practices, innovative curricula, educational programs and initiatives, professional development, and the use of digital technologies in learning and instruction. Prior to joining Rockman, Adam was an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, where he directed evaluation research for a wide range of interdisciplinary education programs for healthcare students, faculty, and practitioners. Adam also has worked at the Center for Advanced Studies in Education at the City University of New York, conducting intervention studies designed to help academically underprepared secondary and post-secondary level students from diverse backgrounds succeed in STEM and other disciplines. He is a former special education teacher and specialist. Adam received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the City University of New York, with a specialization in learning, development, and instruction, and he is certified in the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) group design standards. Outside of work, Adam especially enjoys spending time with his daughter and wife, training for marathons, and cooking.
