Rick St. Clair started their work experience in 1980 as a BAS Construction and Service Foreman at Johnson Controls. Rick was responsible for overseeing construction crews and service maintenance and repair contracts in Austin and surrounding cities. In 1986, they joined Rodeo Austin as Chief of Ticketing on a part-time basis, eventually becoming a Contract Box Office Supervisor until 2012. At NXP Semiconductors, they worked as a Group Leader for Semiconductor Factory Facilities I&C and Variable Speed Drives, overseeing instruments and controls, toxic gas monitoring, and quality instrument calibration. Rick later became semi-retired in 2017. From 1995 to 2012, they worked at Freescale Semiconductor as a Project Manager, Facilities Liaison, Site Facilities Supervisor, and Group Leader, responsible for site maintenance, repairs, and outsourced contractor coordination.
Rick St.Clair attended Sidney Lanier High School from 1973 to 1975, where they did not pursue any specific degree or field of study. Following high school, from 1976 to 1979, they attended the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Apprentices, where they obtained a Journeyman Pipefitter degree. During this time, their studies focused on pipefitting, HVAC, and HVAC controls. Later, from 1995 to 2014, Rick received internal training from Motorola/Freescale in Facilities Internal Training and Vendor BAS Training, but did not pursue a degree in this field.
