Bill Appelbe

Bill Appelbe is an experienced Course Author and Instructor at Learning Tree International, specializing in cloud computing, big data, software engineering, and various programming languages. Currently, Bill serves as a Google Cloud certified trainer for ROI Training and has held roles such as Solutions Architect and Tech Lead for the Government of Alberta, focusing on modernizing legacy systems. Previous positions include Senior System Architect at IBM, where optimization of machine learning for a major US bank and leading cloud architecture initiatives for Canadian government agencies were key responsibilities. Bill also has experience as Vice President of Enterprise IT Architecture and Strategy at Stratford Managers Corporation and has contributed to advanced computing strategies at the Bank of Canada. Bill holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Monash University and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
