Sean Wheeler CEng, IWE/EWE has a strong background in welding engineering and production leadership. Sean started their career at Rittal in 2008, where they served as a Welding & Quality Engineer. During this time, they were responsible for the quality control and improvement of welding processes within the organization, as well as assessing and optimizing welding procedures. In 2014, they joined Rolls-Royce as a Nuclear Welding Engineer & Production Leader for Nuclear Submarines. In this role, they led a team of welders and operated welding cells, delivering sustainable performance-based results and reducing component lead times. Sean recently joined Rolls-Royce SMR in 2022 as the Principal Welding Engineer, where they are involved in developing welding manufacturing methods for the new Small Module Reactor components, ensuring compliance with ASME standards.
Sean Wheeler CEng, IWE/EWE has a Master of Science - MSc in Welding Engineering from Cranfield University (2017-2020) and a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Plymouth (2006-2010). Sean also holds various certifications from The Welding Institute, including CSWIP 3.1 - Welding Inspector (2022), EWF/IIW Welding Diploma, TWI, Engineer (2013), EWF/IIW Welding Diploma, TWI (2012), and EWF/IIW Welding Diploma, TWI (2011). Sean attended Allen & Partners (2011-2012) and Allen & Partners (Manufacturing Advisory Service) (2010-2011) for undisclosed degrees. Sean completed their secondary education at St Boniface College (1998-2006).
