Daan Krekels

Daan Krekels serves as a Venture Developer at ROM Utrecht Region since April 2024, focusing on supporting startups in their development and innovation objectives while enhancing the startup climate in Utrecht. Additionally, Daan is involved with Startup Utrecht Region and owns Meraki Concepts, a company dedicated to product development. Prior experience includes an advisory role on climate adaptation and sustainability at Sweco, where Daan worked on urban climate threats and circular economy measures from April 2022 to August 2023. Previous roles also encompass positions at SWU Thymos, including a member of the advisory board, and a commissioner for publicity, alongside experience as a front desk employee at Sports Centre de Bongerd. Daan holds a Master of Science in Urban Environmental Management and a Master of Science in Earth and Environment from Wageningen University & Research, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Soil, Water, and Atmosphere.
