Apala Majumdar

Apala Majumdar has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several organizations. Apala began their career in 1994 as an Assistant Manager at A F Ferguson & Co and later joined Lease Plan India Private Limited as a Finance Manager and Company Secretary. In 2002, they became the Director of Finance at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India. Apala then transitioned to the role of Director: Finance and Administration at India HIV/AIDS Alliance in 2004. From 2005 to 2013, Apala served as the Regional Controller for Asia at Nutrition International. Apala then joined the Population Foundation of India as the Director of Finance & Administration in 2013. Presently, they hold leadership positions at Room to Read, initially as Director of Field Finance and Accounting, Global Office, then as Global Controller, and currently as the Vice President of Accounting and Global Controller.

Apala Majumdar has a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce, obtained from 1986 to 1989. Apala is also a Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, completed by 1993. Additionally, they have a Company Secretary degree from The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, completed by 1994. Apala also attended Mater Dei School, where they obtained an ISC degree.
