Joseph Candiello, PhD

Joseph Candiello, PhD has worked in a variety of roles in the field of biotechnology. Joseph began their career in 2010 at the University of Pittsburgh, where they served as a Post Doctoral Research Associate. In this role, they worked on three projects: Engineer vascularized islet organ biomimetics from pluripotent stem cell derived pancreatic progenitor cells, investigate the interactions between embryonic stem cells and their biophysical environment, and engineer hydrogel based biomaterial platforms for large scale single cell culture of human pluripotent stem cells.

In 2017, Joseph joined RoosterBio Inc. as an Associate Director of Product Management. Joseph then served as a Senior Product Manager, Product Manager, and Technical Application Specialist.

In 2020, Joseph joined Penn State University as a member of the Industrial and Professional Advisory Council (IPAC).

Joseph Candiello, PhD, obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh between 2003 and 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering Science from The Pennsylvania State University between 1998 and 2002.
