Kathy Byrne Bailey

Head-Assay Development at Roswell Biotechnologies

Kathy Byrne Bailey has a long and varied work experience. Kathy is currently the Head-Assay Development at Roswell Biotechnologies, a role they have held since 2021. From 2019 to 2021, they were the Lead Scientist at Diversified NANO Solutions Corporation. Kathy was a Lecturer at the University of California San Diego from 2018 to 2019, and a Scientist for Self-employed from 2017 to 2018. From 2015 to 2017, they were an Assistant Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University, teaching Allied Health and majors Microbiology, General Biology, Environmental sustainability, among other courses. From 2014 to 2015, they were an Adjunct Instructor at ITT Technical Institute, teaching the 10 week core Microbiology class to nursing students. From 2006 to 2005, they were a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Berkeley, researching molecular and physiological aspects of bacterial anoxic nitrate-dependent iron oxidation, and the bacterial biochemical and molecular pathways of aerobic and anaerobic oxidation of hydrocarbons. From 2005 to 2003, they were a Postdoctoral Visitor at the Carnegie Institution for Science, Department of Plant Biology. From 2003 to 2000, they were a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Warwick, Department of Biological Sciences. Finally, from 2000 to 2003, they were a Research Assistant at the School of Life Sciences at the University of Warwick, investigating novel protein translocation pathways (Twin Arginine Translocation pathway and Secretory pathway) in both bacterial and plant thylakoid membranes.

Kathy Byrne Bailey received their PhD in Environmental Microbiology from the University of Warwick in 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from The Manchester Metropolitan University in 1997.
