James Godefroy has extensive work experience in the field of Intellectual Property protection and enforcement. James began their career at Tubby Games as a Licensing Manager from June 2012 to February 2013. James then joined Rouse in 2013 and held various roles, including Paralegal/Analyst in Anti-counterfeiting from February 2013 to September 2015, Consultant in Online from October 2015 to June 2018, and Consultant in IP Protection from June 2018 to February 2021. From February 2021 to July 2022, they worked as a Senior Manager before taking on the role of Enforcement - Deputy Global Service Head, providing guidance on protecting and enforcing Intellectual Property assets and driving innovation and growth in Enforcement services globally. Currently, they serve as a Principal at Rouse, starting from July 2023.
James Godefroy has a strong educational background in law and intellectual property. James obtained a CopyrightX degree in copyright law from Harvard Law School in 2021. In 2019, they completed a course on Innovation and Intellectual Property Protection for Middle and Senior Management at Chongqing University of Science & Technology. Prior to that, they obtained an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from The University of Manchester in 2012, and a LLB in Law from Lancaster University in 2011. Additionally, they have a certification in Chinese language proficiency (HSK level 3) from Hanban Confucius Institute, obtained in 2017.
