Dave Lampel has over twenty years of experience in the media industry. Dave began their career in 1996 as a Customer Support Specialist at Arbitron Inc. (now Nielsen Audio), where they provided consultation and technical service for radio stations, advertising agencies, advertisers, and employees on proprietary Arbitron software. Dave also conducted on-site and satellite training sessions on maximizing sales and determining programming, using both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and developed and distributed standalone software tutorials. In 2005, they became an Independent Media Consultant, holding various contract positions for media consulting companies.
In 2006, Lampel joined the Baltimore Sun Media Group as an Advertising Sales Manager, overseeing the Howard County/South Baltimore County sales team, which included 10 sales representatives and additional support staff. Dave maintained responsibility for budgets in excess of $3 million annually in print and web-based products, tracked the reporting, planning and analysis of contractual advertising and marketing agreements, and ensured client fulfillment. Dave was later promoted to Manager, Advertising Information Systems, where they prepared and maintained revenue budgets and goals totaling more than $100 million annually for all product verticals across the sales organization, including print, digital/online, e-mail, mobile and direct mail. Dave also forecasted revenue, prepared a monthly allocation of plan and projection of account spending/sales team performance, and analyzed trends and performance variances.
In 2013, Lampel joined Vocus as a Professional Services Consultant, leading clients through the process of system implementation and configuration. Dave also served as a project manager, product consultant, and technical trainer within the Vocus suite of PR and Marketing cloud-based SAAS tools.
Lampel currently works at RouteSmart Technologies as a Senior SaaS Delivery and Support Consultant. Dave oversees SaaS project management, cloud implementation, training and support, as well as vehicle route optimization for many of their distribution clients in a variety of industries. Dave specializes in identifying areas for improvement and simplifying their 24/7 technical support by adding automated verification and client notifications to avoid unnecessary delays in issue resolution. Dave also works diligently to recognize inconsistencies in their contract verbiage, analyzing and recommending standards, and instigating management review.
Dave Lampel obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication with a Minor in Speech from Towson University. Dave also attended First Level Tribune Leadership with the Tribune Company, Newspaper Managers Survival Guide with MDDC (Maryland, Delaware, DC Press Association), Talented Focused Management with the Center for Sales Strategies in Tampa, FL, Customer Focused Selling with the Center for Sales Strategies in Tampa, FL, and Media Buying Instructor with the Media Buying Academy. Dave also has three certifications: RouteSmart DRO Certified Routing Professional from RouteSmart Technologies in June 2022, RouteSmart Online Certified Routing Professional from RouteSmart Technologies in September 2016, and Certified Radio Marketing Consultant (CRMC) from the Radio Advertising Bureau in June 1997.
