Bart Meussen has a diverse work experience history. Bart has held various roles at different companies throughout their career.
In 1995, Meussen started their career at KPN as a Business Analyst in the Mobile Network Services department. Bart was responsible for business planning, investment selection, and cost-price calculation.
Bart then moved on to become Manager Control and Support in the Network Construction department at KPN, where they led the restructuring of the department and was responsible for finance, logistics, and quality management. Bart also led a country-wide reporting harmonization change program.
Meussen later became Manager Control for the Zakelijke Markt sales unit at KPN, overseeing financial control functions. Bart subsequently served as Manager Finance and Support for KPN Valley_Incubation BV, where they were responsible for finance, legal/fiscal, and IT within the incubation and research activities.
In 2003, Meussen joined Philips as the CFO of Philips Drachten and Senior Director Finance for the Shaving business. Bart was involved in global footprinting, investment decisions, and outsourcing/dis-entanglement of non-core activities. Bart then became Regional Manager EMEA for Shared Business Services Finance at Philips, leading finance shared service activities and focusing on process harmonization, simplification, and consolidation.
Meussen went on to become Vice President Finance, Global Manager Philips Finance Operations at Philips, where they led a large-scale change and restructuring program, focusing on simplification, automation, and outsourcing of accounting and reporting processes. Bart also served as Vice President, Lead Group Performance Management Practice, leading the ramp-up of the global excellence practice on performance management at Philips.
In 2015, Meussen started their own consultancy services company called Agilt, where they supported companies with finance function improvement and management control process enhancement.
In 2016, Meussen returned to KPN as EVP and Head of FP&A and Digital Finance Transformation Leader. Bart created and led the Financial Planning and Analysis group, which executed the planning and control cycle of KPN. Bart also designed and implemented a successful multi-year digital transformation program for KPN's finance function.
Meussen has also held roles outside of the corporate world, including being a member of the supervisory boards at Bibliotheek 's-Hertogenbosch e.o. and Fontys University of Applied Sciences.
Currently, Meussen serves as an Executive Director of Finance for the Netherlands at the Royal BAM Group nv.
Bart Meussen has a diverse education history. In 1995, they obtained a degree in Economics and Organization from Tilburg University. Bart furthered their education by completing a Register Controller program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 1999. In the same year, they also attended IMD for a course on Building on Talent. In 2008, Bart completed a Credit Risk Management course at Standard and Poor's in Singapore. Bart then attended Harvard Business School for a program on Leading Change and Organizational Renewal. Bart Meussen continued to enhance their skills by completing a Practitioner level course in Managing Successful Programs (MSP) at Capgemini Academy + ILX Group in 2014. Bart pursued further executive education in Advanced Analytics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2019. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Program Management (MSP) from IXL Learning in 2014 and Chartered Controller (or Register Controller) from Vereniging van Registercontrollers (VRC) in 1997.
