Mandy Webb

Mandy Webb's work experience includes roles in the publishing industry. Mandy is currently the Head of Publishing at The Royal College of Surgeons of England, starting in November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Publisher at Radcliffe Group starting in February 2022. From July 2016 to December 2021, they served as the Managing Editor at The British Editorial Society of Bone & Joint Surgery. Before that, they worked at Macmillan Science and Education as the Production Manager Academic and Partner Journals, leading a team of 8 staff and overseeing the production of a journal portfolio. Earlier in their career, Mandy held various positions at Nature Publishing Group, including Deputy Production Manager Academic Journals, Production Tracking System Supervisor, Deputy Production Manager Academic Journals, and Production Controller. Mandy'sresponsibilities involved managing teams, coordinating production processes, and maintaining relationships with editors, authors, and suppliers.

Mandy Webb's education history begins in 1980 when they attended Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Schule in Ebersbach, Germany for their primary education. After completing their high school education at Geschwister Scholl Gymnasium in Loebau, Germany from 1988 to 1990, they went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in North America Studies and Teacher of German as a Foreign Language at Leipzig University in Leipzig, Germany from 1995 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Mandy Webb has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2019, they completed a course on "Copyright: How to get what you need in the digital age" at The Publishing Training Centre. In 2017, they obtained a certification in "Journal Development: Practical plans for improving journal success" from The Association of Learned & Professional Society Publishers. Mandy also completed courses on "Understanding eJournal Technology" and "Commissioning Content: Working effectively with authors and editors" in 2016, both from The Association of Learned & Professional Society Publishers. Additionally, in the same year, they obtained certifications in "Copy-editing 2: Progress" from the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), as well as "Editing in Word" from The Publishing Training Centre. In 2016, they completed a course on "Copy-editing 1: Introduction" from the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). Prior to that, Mandy Webb obtained a certification in "Managing Performance Through Change – Managing Performance, Communicating Change, Goal Setting and Coaching in Periods of Change" from Macmillan Science and Education. Finally, in 2014, they completed a course on "Introduction to Management" from 360 Training Ltd.
