Daniel Martens has a diverse work experience, starting with an internship at HKV Lijn in Water in 2011. Daniel then worked as a Graduate Intern at Deltares, where they conducted research on the physical coastal system along East Coast Park, Singapore. After that, they joined DHI as a Coastal Engineer, where they worked on various projects related to coastal and marine engineering. In 2018, they moved to Bentley Systems as a Product Sales Representative, specializing in hydraulics and hydrology. Later, in 2021, they joined Virtuosity, a Bentley Company, as a Product Advancement Engineer. Currently, they are working at Royal HaskoningDHV as the Climate Risk Intelligence Lead for the APAC region.
Daniel Martens completed their education at Delft University of Technology. Daniel obtained a BSc in Civil Engineering from 2005 to 2011, followed by an MSc in Hydraulic Engineering with a major in Coastal and River Engineering from 2011 to 2013. In addition, they have obtained various certifications, including ESG and Climate Change, ESG and Social Activism, The Materiality of ESG Factors Specialization, ESG Impact: Investor Perspective, and ESG Risks and Opportunities from Coursera. Daniel also holds certifications in sales-related topics from LinkedIn and certifications in people analytics, accounting analytics, operations analytics, and customer analytics from the University of Pennsylvania. Lastly, they have completed certifications in Presentation Techniques from DHI and IALA Risk Management Toolbox (IWRAP Mk2, PAWSA, and Simulation) from IALA.
