Geert de Decker

Geert De Decker currently serves as Deputy Ops & Trg at Belgian Defence since June 2022 and has been a Test Pilot for the Belgian Air Force since 2001, working on F16 Mid Life Update and related projects. Previously, Geert held several key positions, including Chief of Staff of the air component (June 2019 - June 2022), Base Commander at the 10th Tactical Wing (July 2015 - September 2018), and Director of the Aviation Safety Directorate (September 2013 - June 2015). Additional experience includes military advising for NATO (September 2009 - September 2012) and contributing to various development teams within Belgian Defence. Geert's educational background includes a Master of Science in Aeronautical Mechanics and a Master's in Engineering from the Royal Military Academy in Brussels and Sandhurst, respectively.
