Sabine van Sprang

Sabine van Sprang is an accomplished art historian and curator with extensive experience in the field. Currently, Sabine serves as a member of the Classe des Arts at the Académie royale des Sciences, des Lettres et des Beaux-Arts de Belgique since February 2021 and has held various pivotal roles at the Musées royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique since September 1996, including Chef de section a.i. and Conservatrice de la peinture flamande 1550-1650. From January 2019 to December 2023, Sabine was the Director at Academia Belgica - Centro per la Storia, le Arti e le Scienze. Additionally, Sabine contributed to academia by teaching the course "Iconographie des Temps modernes" at Université libre de Bruxelles from September 2011 to August 2014. Sabine's academic credentials include a Doctorate in Histoire de l'Art et Archéologie and a Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies from Université libre de Bruxelles, as well as foundational studies in the same field at UIA-Università internazionale dell'Arte a Firenze.
