Marc Weiser

Marc Weiser has a talent for growing relationships—with entrepreneurs, with investors and with partners in dozens of sectors across the country—is one of the strengths that Marc Weiser brings to the table at RPM, along with significant experience in helping startups build their strategies through periods of growth. (He has sat on more than 20 boards of directors over the past two decades.) Marc has been investing in the automotive, mobility and transportation sectors for 20 years and also has experience in the real estate sector, amongst others.

Marc currently sits on the boards of the following RPM companies: Haul, Biproxi, BountyJobs, and Mobi . Previous investments include: Applimation (acquired by Informatica), OpenLane (acquired by KAR Auction Services), Automatic (acquired by Sirius XM), Carlypso (acquired by Carvana), R4 Global Services (acquired by Verisign), RiverGlass (acquired by Allen Systems), TetraVitae (acquired by Eastman Chemical), and Xtime (acquired by Cox Automotive Group).

Before co-founding RPM, Marc co-founded QuantumShift, a provider of web-based business-to-business technology and services focused on corporate telecommunications needs; he then led the company through multiple rounds of financing. Marc was also one of the first employees at MessageMedia (purchased by DoubleClick), where he pioneered some of the original methods for e-commerce transactions and launched the first internet merchants. He was also a member of the road-show team for the company’s initial public offering.

In addition to his board roles for RPM, Marc is vice chair of McKinley, Inc., one of the largest private real estate companies in the United States. He is also a member of the National Advisory Council Science Committee for NASA, and he serves on the board of the James Beard Foundation. Previously, Marc was a founding member of the board of the Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) and an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan, where he was also on the board of the Wolverine Venture Fund. Marc served on the Board of Trustees of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, and also received the University of Michigan Alumni Distinguished Service Award for his efforts in founding the CFE, the TechArb (student accelerator) and the Masters in Entrepreneurship program. Additionally, he and his wife led the creation of the Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center at the University of Michigan, which provides national leadership and a path to a cure for those who suffer from food allergies.

Marc graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan, where he also earned an MBA with highest honors. He lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with his wife, daughter and son.
