Mike Zenteno

Mike Zenteno is an audit partner and national financial services industry leader at RSM Canada LLP, responsible for growing the practice within the audit, tax and consulting lines of business. He is also RSM Canada’s business leader for Latin America, representing the Canadian office in all business opportunities with Latin America and the Caribbean. Mike has been with the firm since 2017 and is based in the Toronto office.

Mike has more than 20 years of public accounting experience providing audit and business advisory services to various public and private sector clients. As the financial services industry leader, he facilitates the expansion of the industry practice across all business lines by broadening the firm’s network, strengthening the brand and helping develop RSM’s client service professionals. Mike’s role internationally is to build alliances in Latin America and the Caribbean to support client growth abroad or support foreign domestic investment in Canada by leading a team of professionals familiar with the regulatory environments locally and internationally.

Mike was instrumental in RSM Canada’s accreditation as an auditor of broker-dealers, a highly regulated industry that requires in-depth securities knowledge and experience. Mike is Canada’s first panel auditor licensed to provide audit opinions for broker-dealers, accredited by the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization Canada. He is currently building out this growing practice for the firm.

Mike is passionate about developing future leaders of the firm. He is motivated by growth for his clients and colleagues and is invested in the firm’s winning culture. Hyper-focused on client service, Mike follows the firm’s characteristics of a first-choice advisor, caring about his clients, their needs and timelines, and collaborating with them to find solutions. He does his best to provide his team with broad industry experience, a road map for a successful career at RSM, and a path to partnership, if they so choose.

Mike participates in the firm’s culture, diversity and inclusion efforts as the executive sponsor and a member of the firm’s employee network group, ¡Hola! The father of three, he grew up learning Spanish and Portuguese thanks to his multicultural background, which is also useful in his role working with Latin America and international business.
