Regien Boekema is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research and development within the food industry. Currently serving as Quality Manager and Research Manager at Ruitenberg Ingredients B.V. since October 2007, Regien coordinates various R&D projects with a focus on innovative products such as vegetable casing, bake-stable fillings, egg replacers, liquorice, and liquid smoke. Previously, Regien worked as a Scientist in R&D at CP Kelco from 2002 to 2007, specializing in the application of hydrocolloids across multiple sectors including food and pharmaceuticals. Prior to that, Regien held a similar role at Hercules from June 1996 to September 2002, concentrating on enzymatic modification of hydrocolloids and functional foods. Regien holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, completed in 1996.
