Dan Schmelzer

Dan Schmelzer joined Russel Metals in April 2022 as Vice President of Information Technology. Mr. Schmelzer is responsible for the IT function across the organizations including IT Operations as well as Enterprise Applications. Dan has over 30 years of experience in IT for a variety of industries including manufacturing, mining, and utilities. Prior to joining Russel Metals, Dan was Vice Presiden of IT for Detour Gold and Amica and prior to that had held various senior leadership positions at ShawCor, Vale, and Enbridge.

Dan has a Computer Engineering degree from the University of Bucharest and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto.
