Michelle Mason

Michelle Mason is currently serving as the Managing Articles Editor and previously as a Staff Editor for the Rutgers Journal of Law and Public Policy since August 2023. Michelle held the position of Criminal Defense Practice Intern at Brooklyn Defenders from June 2024 to August 2024 and interned with the Federal Public Defenders in the District of New Jersey from January 2024 to April 2024. Michelle was a Judicial Intern at the Union County Superior Courts under Hon. Thomas K. Isenhour from June 2023 to August 2023. Prior roles include Policy Associate and Policy and Operations Assistant at the Institute for Innovation in Prosecution during Michelle's time at John Jay College from June 2019 to August 2022. Additionally, Michelle interned at the Kings County District Attorney's Office in the Domestic Violence Bureau, the Union County Criminal Courts, and had a Legal Fellowship at Sanctuary for Families in 2018. Michelle is pursuing a Doctor of Law (JD) degree at Rutgers Law School, expected to graduate in May 2025, and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Politics from The New School in 2019.
