Jay A. Patel

Jay A. Patel is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience across various high-profile companies. As the Principal at Kena Consultancy since 2023, Jay collaborates with leaders on strategic initiatives. Previously, as Chief Architect at Rutter from 2022 to 2024, Jay was responsible for developing a scalable platform with a focus on low development and operational costs. Jay's experience at Stripe as a Software Engineer, and at Herald as CEO and Co-Founder, showcases a strong background in software development and user feedback analysis. Earlier roles included Senior Staff Software Engineer at Uber, where Jay contributed to enhancing reliability, and positions at VMware and Pattern Insight focused on performance improvements. Jay earned a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and holds a BSCS in Computer Science and Mathematics from The University of Texas-Pan American.
