Chief Tourism Officer at Rwanda Development Board (RDB)

Michaella Rugwizangoga has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Michaella served as a Council Member on the Global Council on Tourism and the Global Future Council on Mobility at the World Economic Forum. In their role, they contributed to promoting sustainable approaches in the global industry and played a part in redesigning sustainable destinations and practices in tourism. Additionally, they co-created new models and practices to ensure sustainability.

Michaella also worked as the Chief Tourism Officer at the Rwanda Development Board, where they played a crucial role in the development and promotion of tourism in Rwanda. Furthermore, they served as the Technology Partnerships Lead at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, where they led the implementation of technology solutions in Rwanda, Kenya, Angola, and Senegal. Michaella successfully managed relationships with tech partners, development partners, governments, and the African Union.

Prior to these roles, Michaella was the Chief Executive Officer and Board Member at Volkswagen Mobility Solutions Rwanda, where they provided leadership and contributed to the growth of the company. Michaella also served as an Innovation Accelerator Project Officer at the Imbuto Foundation, managing and coordinating the implementation of a mentorship-driven program focused on adolescent health and population development.

Michaella's work experience also includes being the Brand Manager at Innovation Village, contributing to the design and development of the Rwanda National Coffee and Tea Brands. Additionally, they served as a Technical Advisor to the CEO at the Rwanda Development Board, providing strategic advice and coordination on various institutional activities.
