Kevin Farmer

Kevin Farmer is a software developer at RX Music. Kevin previously worked as a senior application developer at CIBC from November 2016 to August 2018. At CIBC, they were responsible for developing and maintaining n-tier business applications supporting Corporate Security and Information Security LOBs. This included enterprise analytics (Actimize) ingesting multiple feeds from legacy front ends through different data marts and Hadoop, case management and business management systems running on a range of back ends and middleware, and site-to-site VPN for a business unit to access a custom environment hosted by an external vendor. Kevin was also responsible for diverse solutions for specialized business use cases ranging from compliance to forensics.

Application development at CIBC involved adapting COTS products to business needs, data migration, and leveraging existing enterprise technologies such as Oracle, AutoSys, Informatica, Hadoop, Active Directory, Windows and computer networking. Kevin was a hands-on contributor to all phases of project delivery, including business engagement, requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, project management and coordination, and documentation. Kevin was also routinely tasked as the PM for certain classes of projects that required coordinating with multiple business and technology groups, external vendors, and offshore resources. In addition, they were responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with business partners and external vendors and serving as their primary point of contact with CIBC technology groups.

Kevin Farmer reports to Evgeniy Levakhin, Director of Software Engineering. They are on a team with Lucas Boulanger - Junior Developer, Patrick Millar - Junior Developer, and Ali Hus - Senior Software Developer.
