Karen Cyphers

Karen Cyphers has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Karen currently serves as a Partner & Vice President of Research & Policy at Sachs Media Group since 2015. Karen is also a Specialized Teaching Faculty I at Florida State University starting in 2022. Previously, they worked as a Contributor at floridapolitics.com from 2013 onwards. Karen also served as a Patient Representative for the FDA's Peripheral and Central Nervous System Drugs Advisory Committee from 2013 to 2015. In 2012, they founded their own company, Cyphers Group, LLC, where they served as the Director. Between 2008 and 2012, they worked as the Director of Health Care Policy for the Florida Medical Association. Karen has also worked as a Consultant for the Health Care Transition Team for Governor Rick Scott and served as the Policy Director for the Bill McCollum for Governor campaign in 2010. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as the Deputy Policy Chief for the Executive Office of the Governor, Office of Policy and Budget, Health and Human Services. Lastly, they served as the Deputy Policy Director for Charlie Crist's gubernatorial campaign from 2006 to 2007.

Karen Cyphers earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology/Anthropology from New College of Florida in 2001. Karen then pursued a Master of Science degree in Political Science at Florida State University from 2003 to 2005. Afterward, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science/Public Policy/Research Methods at Florida State University from 2005 to 2012. Additionally, Karen Cyphers obtained certification as a Class "CC" Private Investigator Intern from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in 2020.
