Jared Amalong

Director Of Computer Science Education And Distance Learning at Sacramento County Office of Education

Jared Amalong has extensive work experience in the field of education and technology. Jared started their career as a Grants Manager at the California Service Corps - Office of the Governor in 2004. Jared then worked as a Language Arts Instructor at Rocklin Unified School District from 2007 to 2009.

In 2009, Jared joined the Placer County Office of Education as an Information and Communication Technologies Coordinator, where they focused on supporting and growing the ICT pathways for students. Jared also worked as a CTE Instructor at the same institution from 2009 to 2015.

In 2012, Jared joined the Roseville Joint Union High School District as a CTE Instructor until 2014. Jared then transitioned to the Sacramento County Office of Education in 2017 as an Information and Communication Technologies Coordinator, where they continued their efforts in supporting and growing ICT pathways for students.

In addition to their work in education, Jared has also taught courses as an Adjunct Faculty at Sierra College since 2017. Jared is currently the Director of Computer Science Education and Distance Learning at the Sacramento County Office of Education, a position they have held since July 2020.

Jared Amalong has a diverse education history. Jared obtained a Master's Degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from Boise State University from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they attended National University from 2006 to 2008, where they earned a Single Subject Credential in English. Jared began their educational journey at California State University-Sacramento from 1999 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Communication Studies. In addition to their formal education, Jared Amalong also obtained a certification as a Google Education Trainer from Google in September 2014.
