Ahmed was appointed VP of Business and Services for Sadara in November 2021. In this role, he is responsible for four main functions, namely, Information Technology, Procurement, Site Logistics and Commercial. He also serves as the Engagement Lead for Third Party agreements with the Jubail Royal Commission, Saudi Rail, King Fahad Industrial Port, Jubail Commercial Port, and other major Sadara stakeholders in Jubail.
As a Saudi Aramco leader, Ahmed has extensive experience in Information Technology with impressive expertise spanning numerous functions, as well as extensive planning and performance management knowledge. He has been heavily engaged with Saudi Aramco affiliates, including SABIC and Saudi Aramco’s international offices.
He joined Saudi Aramco in 1991, and has worked in a variety of entrepreneurial and leadership capacities. Most recently, he led the Centralized IT Program (CITP), where he played a key role in setting the stage and developing required logistics to consolidate the IT functions at Saudi Aramco international offices – Aramco Services Company (ASC), Aramco Overseas Company (AOC) and Saudi Aramco Asia Company (SAAC) – with the Saudi Aramco Corporate IT function. He was also assigned to work with all Saudi Aramco domestic affiliates to explore the feasibility of consolidating their IT function with the Saudi Aramco IT organization and extend full support to their operations.
In 2019, Ahmed was appointed the Saudi Aramco IT function lead under the New Journey project – Saudi Aramco’s acquisition of SABIC – exploring synergies resulted from integration activities, identifying IT value-creation initiatives and enabling the business organization to create value through IT systems integrations.
He held a number of key leadership and managerial positions at Saudi Aramco, the latest as Manager of the Communications Operations Department. Previously, he was assigned to work with the Finance Business Line, leading Support Services Planning & Performance Management.
Ahmed hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the City University, USA.
