Evangeline M. Chan has extensive work experience in the field of immigration law. Evangeline M. is currently serving as the Director for the Immigration Law Project at Safe Horizon since 2017. Prior to that, they ran their own law firm, the Law Offices of Evangeline M. Chan, from 2013 to 2022, specializing in a wide range of immigration matters for corporate and individual clients. Evangeline also worked as an adjunct instructor at Hunter College from 2013 to 2017, teaching immigration law. Evangeline M. briefly served as the Interim Director for the Immigration Law Project at Safe Horizon in 2015. Additionally, Evangeline worked as an adjunct professor at the CUNY School of Professional Studies from 2014 to 2015. Before starting their own firm, they were an attorney at a private immigration law firm from 2009 to 2013. Earlier in their career, Evangeline worked as a legal advocate at Safe Horizon from 2007 to 2009, an associate attorney at Seyfarth Shaw LLP from 2006 to 2007, and an associate attorney at Cullen and Dykman LLP from 2001 to 2006.

Evangeline M. Chan obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English and Media Studies from Fordham University and then went on to pursue a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Brooklyn Law School.
