Chief Executive Officer at Safe Place for Youth

Erika Hartman has a diverse and extensive work experience in various organizations and roles. Erika is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Safe Place for Youth since 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Board Member at the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority starting in 2019. In 2021, they became the Board President at USC Lambda LGBT Alumni Association. Additionally, they worked as a Homeless Research Policy Institute Partner and Race Equity Committee Member at USC Sol Price School of Public Policy from 2020. Erika also held the position of Board of Governors at USC Alumni Association from 2022 to 2023. In previous roles, they served as the Board Chair at Los Angeles Central Providers Collaborative from 2019 to 2021, and as a Los Angeles County Commission for Women, Health Committee Member from 2019 to 2021. Erika's prior experience includes positions such as Chief Program Officer at Downtown Women's Center from 2017 to 2021, and Chief Program Officer at Westside Children's Center from 2015 to 2017.

Erika Hartman holds a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling, which they obtained from the University of Southern California between 2007 and 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from UC Santa Barbara from 2003 to 2007.

In terms of certifications, Erika has completed the Women In Leadership program at Coro Southern California in February 2020. Erika also possesses a Connective Leadership Certification from the Connective Leadership Institute. Additionally, Erika is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, certified by the Board Of Behavioral Sciences. Finally, they have a Next Leaders Development Certification, granted by the Center for Nonprofit Management.
