Sharde McConnell, L.G.P.C., has extensive experience in the field of child advocacy and counseling, currently serving as the Client Advocacy Services Manager at Safe Shores - The DC Children's Advocacy Center since July 2014, overseeing case assignments and collaborating with various teams to support community partners. Previously held positions include Senior Family Advocate and Family Advocate at Safe Shores, where responsibilities included crisis counseling and support for caregivers and children involved in abuse investigations. Sharde's earlier experience at The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School encompassed roles as a School Counseling Intern and Learning Support Paraprofessional, focusing on individual and group counseling as well as academic support. Additionally, experience as a Tutorial Specialist and Health and Safety Coordinator at KinderCare involved educational support and safety compliance. Sharde holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Trinity Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Guilford College.
