Verena Chung has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics. Verena began their career in 2016 at Harvard Medical School as a Research Technician II, where they developed and maintained bioinformatics tools and a lab information management system. Verena provided general computational support for the lab until August 2018.
In 2019, Verena joined Sage Bionetworks as a Research Associate in Computational Oncology. Verena worked on various projects related to bioinformatics and computational analysis until February 2020. Verena then took on the role of Associate Bioinformatics Engineer until February 2021, followed by the position of Bioinformatics Engineer until February 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Bioinformatics Engineer at Sage Bionetworks.
In addition to their work at Harvard Medical School and Sage Bionetworks, Verena also gained teaching experience at Northeastern University. Verena served as a Teaching Assistant in Bioinformatics from November 2015 to August 2016 and as a Part-Time Lecturer in Bioinformatics from September 2016 to December 2019.
Verena Chung completed their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry at the University of Washington in 2014. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics at Northeastern University and completed it in 2016.
