Francois Van Zyl

Francois van Zyl is an experienced Data Scientist currently working at Saigen since January 2022, and previously held a Data Scientist position at iZinto for a brief period in late 2021. At iZinto, responsibilities included enhancing forecasting pipelines for temperature, precipitation, and wind, resulting in a 30% improvement in the accuracy of one-hour temperature forecasts using an ensemble model. Francois van Zyl holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering, earned between 2022 and 2023, a Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Data Science from 2020 to 2021, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from February 2015 to November 2019, all obtained from Stellenbosch University.
