Co-lead, Adhesives And Adhesion R&d Network at Saint-Gobain

Elayne Thomas is an experienced materials scientist currently serving as the Co-lead of the Adhesives and Adhesion R&D Network at Saint-Gobain since March 2022, where Elayne coordinates adhesion and adhesives activities across six global research centers. Prior to this role, Elayne worked at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a Senior Research Engineer from January 2020 to March 2022, focusing on the adhesion of soft/soft interfaces through experimentation and mechanical modeling. Elayne completed a PhD at UC Santa Barbara from 2015 to 2019, concentrating on the effects of doping on the morphology and transport characteristics in polymeric semiconductors, culminating in a dissertation titled "The Effect of (Counter-)ions on the Electronic and Crystalline Structure of Doped Polymeric Semiconductors." Elayne holds a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, earned in 2015.
