Russell Favell

Russell Favell is an experienced professional in the field of Information Security. Russell is currently serving as the Head of Information Security at Salary Finance since March 2022. Prior to their current position, they worked at Close Brothers as the Head of Security Operations from March 2019 to December 2021. Before that, they were employed at Vanquis Bank as the IT Security Operations Manager from September 2016 to March 2019. Russell also served as the Manager of the Global Security Operations Centre at Liberty Global from April 2013 to September 2016. Russell started their career at Colt Technology Services in 2006, where they held various roles including Security Administrator and Team Leader for Customer Operations, Security. Russell's experience also includes working as a Trainer at InTechnology (NetConnect) from September 2003 to January 2006, where they specialized in delivering Check Point NG and NGX training.

Russell Favell obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree with Second Class Honours in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University. Russell also holds additional certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², obtained in 2020, and a DevOps Foundation Certification from the DevOps Institute, obtained in 2018. Russell also obtained the CISSP certification from (ISC)² in August 2008.
