Greg Cohen

Greg Cohen has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their role as a Submarine Officer in the US Navy from 1994 to 1998. Greg then transitioned to various roles at Capital One, where they worked from 2001 to 2021. These roles included Senior Director positions in Cybersecurity Risk, US Consumer Card Risk, Retail & Direct Bank Risk Management, and Risk Management, as well as Director positions in Enterprise Risk Management and Operations Analysis. Additionally, Greg held leadership positions within the company, such as Leader of the Northern VA Chapter of Employee Military Network and Chairperson of the Northern VA Community Corps Council. After leaving Capital One, they joined Navy Federal Credit Union as AVP, Information Security Operational Risk in 2021. In 2023, Greg joined Sallie Mae as Senior Director of Enterprise Risk Management, and they currently hold the position of Vice President and Head of Enterprise Risk Management. In addition to their corporate roles, Greg has served as a Member of the Board of Directors for World T.E.A.M, Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia, and Boy Scouts of America Troop 1346. Greg has also been involved in public education through their roles with Stafford County Public Schools and Fairfax County Public Schools. Greg Cohen earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the United States Naval Academy where they studied from 1990 to 1994. Greg later pursued a Master's degree in Technology Management at the University of Maryland Global Campus from 1999 to 2005.
