Zaheer Aslam MD has a diverse work experience in the field of psychiatry and addiction treatment. Zaheer currently holds the position of Chief Medical Officer and Vice President at SalusCare, Inc., where they oversee various departments including general adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, substance use disorders, and inpatient and residential programs.

Prior to this, Dr. Aslam served as the CEO/President of Advanced Psychiatric Care, PC, where they focused on providing specialized treatment for patients with addictive disorders and mental health issues. Zaheer also utilized telepsychiatry to bring psychiatric services to areas where they were not readily available. Additionally, they worked as the Medical Director at Meridian Behavioral Health Services.

Dr. Aslam has also held positions as the Medical Director of Co-Occurring Psychiatric Disorders at Park Royal Hospital, Medical Director and Owner at Gulf Coast Health Care Services, and Medical Director at Alliance Clinic, one of the largest Methadone Clinics in the Minneapolis St Paul area.

Furthermore, they have served as the Director of Lakes Consultation Group, an organization that provides extensive behavioral health diagnostic and treatment services.

Dr. Aslam's educational background includes serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota, where they trained residents and fellows in the field of psychiatry. Zaheer also worked as a Consultant at North Memorial Medical Center.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Aslam was the Director of Opioid Agonist Therapy at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, where they provided care for veterans and their families, evaluated and treated patients with chemical dependence and coexisting mental illnesses, and trained residents and fellows from the University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry.

Zaheer Aslam MD obtained their medical degree (MD) in Medicine from AIMC in the years 1982-1988. Zaheer then pursued a Psychiatry Residency at UND from 1996 to 2000. Following that, they completed a Fellowship in Addictive Disorders at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in 2000-2001, specializing in Addiction Psychiatry.
