Sydney Nkosi

Sydney Nkosi is a seasoned professional in metallurgical engineering with extensive experience in operations and management within the chrome and manganese production sectors. At Samancor Chrome since November 2015, Sydney has held various managerial roles, including Works Manager overseeing multiple submerged arc furnaces (SAFs) and Operations Manager for both closed and open furnaces, focusing on high carbon ferrochrome (HCFeCr) production. Prior experience includes roles at Assmang Manganese Black Rock Mine Operations, where Sydney contributed to research and development, and plant metallurgy, as well as a graduate trainee role. Sydney holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng Hons) and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Pretoria.
