Director Health Information Management And Patient Access at Samaritan Medical Center

Kelly Roes, RHIT has held multiple roles in the healthcare industry throughout their career. Kelly began their journey at Lewis County General Hospital in 2000 as a Medical Transcriptionist, where they gained experience in transcription services. In 2003, they became the Owner of TranSpec Transcription Specialists, where they likely provided transcription services to various clients.

In 2007, Kelly started working at Samaritan Medical Center, where they have had various roles over the years. From 2007 to 2016, they served as the Denial Management Coordinator and Transcription Supervisor, overseeing both in-house transcription staff and managing a vendor relationship with a local transcription service organization. Additionally, they played a crucial role in revenue cycle management, working closely with accounts receivable, case management, and coding staff to process and overturn payment denials from insurers.

In 2016, Kelly was promoted to Assistant Director of Health Information Management at Samaritan Medical Center, a position they held until 2018 when they became the Director of Health Information Management. In 2020, they briefly served as the Interim Director of Patient Access before being appointed as the current Director of Health Information Management and Patient Access.

Kelly Roes, RHIT, holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Information/Medical Records Administration/Administrator from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Health Information/Medical Records Technology/Technician from Alfred State College - SUNY College of Technology. Additionally, they have obtained certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) from AHIMA in the year 2017.
